Families…in Bali.
I have been watching a family of new arrivals today, clearly a bunch of misanthropes – there would be many a Doctoral Thesis available from these guys for Psychology students.
They never seem to talk to each other! At breakfast all five sat in silence while scrolling their phones – I did not hear a word and they were only one table away from me.
The family Matriarch is an enormous blubber queen who wanders about using two of those walking poles that you buy for trail walking. Maybe she has an illness called greedy pigitis. The sticks are clearly there for the sympathy vote as she is no doubt registered as disabled. If I add another 100kg maybe I can be disabled too…
Later that evening I was sitting in the reception area, scrolling (ironic but I am here alone) . I came across a news piece about 11 year old twins who both play the trumpet at a very high standard. So I opened the clip and there they were, blowing on their horns. Suddenly the blue whale appears and asks me to turn my music down as it was disturbing her on here patio! Her patio was about 30m away and I had a 10 second clip of two lads blowing trumpets! I noted she had covered the distance in that 10 seconds and without her walking sticks.
I think the modern term for an old trout like that is a Karen.
I went up to my room but couldn’t find the clip again. However I did find my pen and my notebook…
